Jeffrey Appollis
Jeffery (Born 23 August 1981) attended Paulus Joubert Highschool, after which he attended Boland College in Paarl where a gained his National certificate in Art and Design. In 2004 he started working under artist Hannes van Zyl. In 2005 Jeffery was introduced to artist Harvey Rothschild who helped him focus and develop his original style and promoted him to the art world.
Jeffrey finds his passion in still life and landscape; he is eternally inspired by the theory of Cezanne ‘harmony in parallel with nature’. His landscapes are mostly of Paarl Rock Mountain; its shapes dominate the Paarl Valley and shine like a pearl on rainy days. This powerful shape lends itself to translation in his paintings.
