Award-winning South African ceramist Hennie Meyer works predominantly in earthenware, creating highly individual pieces. Using the expressive qualities of clay, composite shapes and colour, he turns strong forms and detailed surfaces into aesthetically pleasing vessels, objects and installations. His work is neither commercial nor mass-produced. Every single piece is individually formed and shaped, then repeatedly glazed and fired. Hennie’s work is exhibited in South Africa, Europe, the UK and Asia. He is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics and a fellow of Ceramics South Africa.
